Current affairs program Today Tonight visited FSH again, this time for a look at the Cancer services we will offer our patients.

FSH Medical Co-Director Dr Paul Cannell showed Today Tonight around our comprehensive Cancer centre and breast centre, as well as our haematology and oncology wards in the main hospital building.

While most Cancer services are designed around inpatients, 80 per cent of FSH's Cancer patients will be outpatients, so our Cancer service will have a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. A number of specialties will work together, including physicians, radiology, pathology, radiation, medical oncology, nursing, counselling, family support services and allied health, giving patients access to services such as physiotherapy, clinical psychology, occupational therapy, social work, pharmacy, dietetics and speech pathology, all in one location.

Our Cancer service is also located close to the pharmacy and pathology laboratory, further increasing convenience for patients.
