Fiona Stanley Hospital’s Consumer Advisory Council (CAC) is recruiting new members to help represent the patient voice.

The council provides advocacy for the planning and delivery of health care services across the south metropolitan catchment.

As a seasoned healthcare consumer, CAC Deputy Chair Rasa Subramaniam, OAM JP, joined the council to improve the patient experience.

“During my time on the CAC, I have been able to make a difference in the service delivery of health to suit the patients and truly help create a patient sensitive service,” Rasa said.

CAC members are needed to share their experience, knowledge and technical capabilities and are required to attend monthly meetings at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

“This year the CAC would like to see more involvement from people with a culturally diverse background, so all voices are heard,” Rasa said.

“The biggest advantage of being part of the CAC is being able to advocate for consumers in the different disciplines of the healthcare industry.”

By providing support to the hospital in all levels of health planning, CAC members have the opportunity to raise awareness of consumer rights and act as the key liaison between FSH and the wider community.
