Fiona Stanley Hospital welcomed 119 medical graduates this week, signalling the start of their careers as doctors.

The interns, from both local and interstate universities, have diverse backgrounds including pharmacy, engineering, nursing, allied health and emergency services.

Their five-day induction and orientation at FSH included clinical scenarios, equipment training and an ‘Amazing Race’ style site familiarisation exercise.

The interns will complete five 10-11 week rotations this year in different medical specialties at Fiona Stanley, Fremantle, Rockingham, Albany and Broome Hospitals.

FSFHG Executive Director Paul Forden welcomed the new medical interns.

“Fiona Stanley Hospital welcomes the group and we hope this marks the start of a long and successful medical career for each of them,” he said.

“These bright young minds will be crucial to the delivery of safe and quality care to our patients now and into the future.”
