Applications are now open for all newly qualified enrolled nurses, registered nurses and midwives to apply for a graduate or transition to practice program through GradConnect.
Using one application, people can apply for employment opportunities in all participating public, private and aged care health providers in Western Australia.
Previously, there has been two opportunities to apply for the programs each year. In 2024, there will be one annual recruitment process – rather than two. This will bring Western Australia in line with other states across Australia.
When do I need to apply by?
Applications are open from 9am (AWST) Friday, 15 March and close at 1pm (AWST) Wednesday, 3 April 2024. Graduate or transition to practice programs vary in length, as well as start dates. All applications for programs due to start between July 2024 to June 2025 need to be submitted by 3 April 2024. Late applications will not be accepted.
What do these changes mean?
Despite shifting to an annual recruitment process, the way you apply has remained the same. The annual recruitment process will be open to people completing their studies between 1 January 2023 and 29 February 2025. Health Service Providers determine their own graduate programs and your site preference will form part of your application process.
What is GradConnect?
GradConnect is a centralised online recruitment process managed by the Department of Health that enables newly qualified enrolled nurses, registered nurses and/or midwives access to employment opportunities through graduate, or transition to practice, programs.
