Finalists announced for 2023 WA Nursing Midwifery Excellence Awards

Finalists for the 2023 WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards (WANMEA) were announced on Friday 21 July.

The 42 finalists, which include 39 nurses and midwives and three nursing and midwifery teams, were selected across 13 categories.

In its 19th year, the annual awards are a celebration of Western Australia’s highly skilled nurses and midwives who perform a critical role in our State’s health system. With more than 41,000 people, they make up the State’s largest health workforce.

This year’s finalists were nominated by their colleagues and patients as exemplary nurses and midwives who are making a huge difference to their professions, their workplaces and to the health of all Western Australians.

They represent all levels of experience and a range of work and practice environments.

The WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards are coordinated by the Department of Health on behalf of all public, private and non-government health sites. Finalists are based throughout Western Australia, from public, private, education and community workplaces.

Winners across each category, the 2023 WA Nurse or Midwife of the Year and the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Honour recipient, will be announced at a gala event in October.
