COVID-19 update – 16 October 2020

The Department of Health has reported no new cases of COVID-19 in Western Australia overnight.

The State total of confirmed COVID-19 cases stands at 709.

There are 17 active cases and 683 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

Six of the seven crew who tested positive on board the Vega Dream off Port Hedland have now left State jurisdiction and therefore, are no longer active cases being monitored by WA Health. The remaining crew member remains in hotel quarantine in Perth.

Yesterday 481 people presented to WA COVID-19 clinics – 473 were assessed and swabbed.

There have been 458,327 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those tested, 78,187 were from regional WA.
