Review of Community Pharmacy Ownership in Western Australia

The Department of Health reviewed community pharmacy ownership laws in Western Australia, examining trends in pharmacy ownership, current laws, the role of pharmacies in health care, and how best to protect the role of the pharmacy.
Extensive consultation was conducted with the community, pharmacists, pharmacy groups and regulatory authorities in other jurisdictions. The Review made 23 recommendations and recommended strengthening community pharmacy ownership laws to better fit the contemporary pharmacy landscape in WA. The final report was completed in March 2019.
