Fiona Stanley Hospital’s (FSH) state-of-the-art surgery robot, the da Vinci surgical system, will be on show to the public and staff on Friday 5 October from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

FSH Surgeon Dr Matthew Brown is leading FSH’s robotic program and is excited to share this milestone with the community.

“It isn’t every day that you get the opportunity to use world class robotic equipment,” Dr Brown said.

“Members of the community will have the chance to sit in the driver’s seat and test out their skills using the robotic arms to pick up objects, before it is put into action to help our patients.”

The da Vinci console will be on the hospital concourse, where staff and the community can try out their robotic surgical skills.

This is a unique opportunity to observe the instruments and learn more about this amazing piece of surgical technology.

FSH will be the first public hospital in Western Australia to offer robotic urological surgery.
