Current affairs program Today Tonight visited FSH for a look inside the State rehabilitation service, which will be the first service to open at the hospital.

FSH Co-Director Dr Hannah Seymour gave Today Tonight a tour of some of the features of the service, including therapy areas, lounges, outdoor courtyards, bedrooms and the hydrotherapy pool.

When it opens on 4 October 2014, patients will benefit from a brand new purpose-built facility, designed in conjunction with rehabilitation patients.

Artwork; large bedrooms containing bright colours and external views; patient entertainment systems that can be manoeuvred for sideways viewing; wheelchair charging points; multi-level storage cabinets; beds that face each other so roommates can interact and message boards to allow for personal items to be displayed, are just some of the features that have been incorporated to create a positive healing environment.
