Senior clinical staff appointments continue at Fiona Stanley Hospital

Recruitment at Fiona Stanley Hospital continues to increase in the lead up to the hospital's opening from October next year.

Twenty-six senior clinical staff have recently been appointed including Dr Gavin Coppinger, who joins the FSH Executive Committee as Medical Co-Director Service 2, Dr John Keenan, who has been appointed to the role of Deputy Director Clinical Services and Barry Jenkins, as Chief Pharmacist.

The following head of specialty positions have been appointed: 

  • Dr Matthew Wright as Head of Haematology
  • Professor John Olynyk as Head of Gastroenterology
  • Professor David Fletcher as Head of General Surgery
  • Dr Annette McWilliams as Head of Respiratory Medicine
  • Dr Stephen Fenner as Head of Psychiatry
  • Dr Mark Monaghan as Head of Emergency
  • Dr Janine Spencer as Head of Paediatric Medicine
  • Dr Gargeswari Sunanda as Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Dr Alex Swann as Head of Anaesthetics
  • Professor Gareth Prosser as Head of Orthopaedic Surgery (shared)
  • Professor Piers Yates as Head of Orthopaedic Surgery (shared)
  • Professor Michael Stacey as Head of Vascular Surgery
  • Dr Stephen Wright as Head of General Medicine.

FSH has also welcomed 10 new nurse directors to its operational team. They include: 

  • Tracey Swiney as Nurse Director Cardiovascular and Respiratory Medicine
  • Christine Kellett as Nurse Director Perioperative Care, Interventional and Imaging
  • Janet Jones as Nurse Director for Medical Specialties
  • Timothy Leen as Nurse Director Acute Care Medical
  • Sharon Delahunty as Nurse Director Mental Health
  • Vince Mazoue as Nurse Director Trauma, Reconstructive, Musculoskeletal Diseases and Neurosciences
  • Eva Storey as Nurse Director State Rehabilitation Service
  • Cheree Schneider as Nurse Director Acute Care Surgical
  • Tammy Lynch as Midwifery Director Women’s, Children and Newborn
  • Penny Keogh as Nurse Director Education.
