Over 1500 people from the local community and across the metropolitan area visited Fiona Stanley Hospital today for their last chance to see inside their future healthcare environment before the hospital opens.

Visitors toured FSH with a guide, visiting key areas of interest including the main concourse, the ward environment and a single patient room, before passing outside the State rehabilitation service, mental health and emergency department.

They also got the chance to view some of FSH’s innovations, including the Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), which will assist staff by moving items such as food, linen and waste between departments, and the Pneumatic Tube System, which will enable staff to send tubes containing specimens, medications and notes to different areas of the hospital.

Fiona Stanley Hospital will open in four phases, beginning with the State rehabilitation service next month, on Saturday 4 October.
