Local primary school student Becky Andrawes chose to feature Fiona Stanley Hospital as part of her recent school project.

The project required the year three students to study a WA scientist and Becky selected Professor Fiona Stanley. Becky’s project focused on Professor Stanley’s research into the causes and prevention of birth defects, specifically the connection between a lack of folic acid and spina bifida.

Becky made a poster detailing all of Professor Stanley’s achievements, and a model of FSH, which was named in Professor Stanley’s honour.

Along with looking at photos of FSH on the internet as part of her research, Becky’s mum drove her to the hospital so she could look at the building before designing her model.

Becky’s impressive model of FSH features a lot of detail, including the hospital’s rooftop gardens, helipad, ambulance bays and courtyard sculpture.

Well done Becky!
