Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is offering employment opportunities to Paediatric and Adult Nurses with suitable training/experience to join our Emergency Department (ED) team.

The adult ED at FSH has a total capacity of 50 acute assessment bays and 20 short-stay beds. It is divided into four functional areas:

  • trauma/resuscitation
  • acute assessment
  • ambulatory care
  • emergency short stay

Children and adolescents will be managed in paediatric area of the ED by suitably trained/experienced staff. Children and adolescents who require short-stay admission will be accommodated in the four-bed paediatric emergency short stay unit.

The paediatric ED at FSH has a total capacity of 14 treatment bays. It is divided into four functional areas:

  • nine open bays, including two for resuscitation
  • one negative pressure isolation room 
  • one consult room, one treatment room and a procedure room
  • four short-stay bed spaces in the paediatric emergency short stay unit.
  • A dedicated resuscitation/trauma bay in the adult area has been identified for the management of critically unwell neonates and children.
