What is allied health?
Allied health consists of a diverse range of occupations providing diagnostic, therapeutic, restorative and preventative services that are distinct from nursing, medicine and pharmacy.
At Fiona Stanley Hospital, allied health services are generally provided only to patients who have been admitted into our hospital, and outpatients who are being treated by one of our medical specialists. It includes those services that are not available in the community or non-tertiary site. Our Allied Health Service professionals provide care to patients throughout our hospital, including the State Rehabilitation Service and the Mental Health Unit.
